Living Walls™ Hedge & Pleached Screen Specifications

Use the specifications below as a guide for handling, trench preparation, spacing and minimum container sizes.

Living Walls™ instant hedge specifications

Living Walls™ are fully formed instant hedges supplied in one-metre lengths. Install one hedge length per linear metre so the foliage meets to form a continuous hedge.

Living Walls™ hedge spacing

・Foliage length: approximately 1000 mm
・Rootball length: approximately 900 mm
・Rootball spacing: allow around 100 mm between rootballs

The foliage should meet. The rootballs should not.

100L Hedge

・Weight: approx. 100 kg per metre; requires 2–4 people to carry
・Foliage dimensions: approx. 1000 mm long × 500 mm wide at the base
・Recommended trench: 500 mm wide × 300 mm deep × total hedge length
・Minimum enclosed container size (internal): 900 mm long × 500 mm wide × 500 mm high

70L Hedge

・Weight: approx. 65 kg per metre; requires 2 people to carry
・Foliage dimensions: approx. 1000 mm long × 400 mm wide at the base
・Recommended trench: 400 mm wide × 250 mm deep × total hedge length
・Minimum enclosed container size (internal): 900 mm long × 400 mm wide × 400 mm high

25L Hedge

・Weight: approx. 25 kg per metre; requires 1–2 people to carry
・Foliage dimensions: approx. 1000 mm long × 250 mm wide
・Recommended trench: 250 mm wide × 150 mm deep × total hedge length
・Minimum enclosed container size (internal): 900 mm long × 300 mm wide × 300 mm high

Pleached Screen specifications

Pleached Screen trees are supplied individually. Install the trees at one-metre centres so the foliage meets to form a continuous elevated screen.

45L Pleached Screen

・Weight: approx. 45 kg per tree; requires 1–2 people to carry
・Foliage dimensions: approx. 1000 mm long, trained on a 900 mm × 900 mm bamboo frame
・Clear stem: approx. 1300 mm
・Installation: individual holes or a continuous trench
・Recommended individual hole: 500–600 mm diameter × 400 mm deep
・Recommended trench: 400 mm wide × 400 mm deep × total screen length
・Minimum rectangular container (internal): 900 mm long × 400 mm wide × 400 mm high
・Minimum cylindrical container (internal): 600 mm diameter × 400 mm high
・Minimum square container (internal): 600 mm long × 600 mm wide × 400 mm high
